UPSC Recruitment 2026- How to Apply

The following steps reflect the application process described in the notification for UPSC’s ORA portal.

  1. Visit the UPSC Online Recruitment Application portal at https://upsconline.nic.in/ora/.
  2. Register as a new user if you do not already have an account, or log in with your existing credentials.
  3. Select Advertisement No. 06/2026 from the list and choose the relevant post.
  4. Fill in all required personal, educational, and experience details accurately.
  5. Upload your photograph, signature, and required supporting documents.
  6. Submit the application and save the system-generated confirmation receipt with your registration number.

Troubleshooting and Common Mistakes

Candidates applying through the UPSC ORA portal can avoid common problems by following these general practices. Photograph and signature files must meet the portal’s specified size and dimension requirements; uploading files that are too large or in an unsupported format is among the most frequent causes of incomplete applications. If a payment transaction fails, wait for the system to confirm the failure before attempting to pay again – making duplicate payments can cause complications that require manual resolution. Use an updated, stable browser on a desktop or laptop for the best experience; mobile browsers sometimes fail to render form fields correctly. Save your registration number and password immediately after registering, as the portal requires them for every subsequent login. Do not attempt to submit your application on the final day of the application window, as heavy traffic on the server is common and can cause timeouts or session errors.
